Fostering saves lives! We depend on foster homes to care for Take Paws Rescue dogs until
suitable homes are found. Fostering a dog is an incredibly rewarding experience.
The general purpose of a Foster is to provide a safe and loving temporary home to an animal while he/she is waiting to be adopted. The role requires commitment, compassion, and knowledge about how to care for the animal you are fostering.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Provide daily care to the foster animal

Transport your foster to the vet as needed/instructed

Take photos of your foster or arrange for a photography volunteer to take photos for you

Evaluate the personality and temperament of your fosters

RSVP to Take Paws Events and make arrangements for your foster to attend as many events as possible

Keep all documentation and records regarding your fosters and send it to your foster coordinator

Provide medicine to fosters if needed

Assist in the training and development of the foster dog’s manners, obedience, and social skills
