Reduced Rovers

At Take Paws Rescue, we believe all dogs deserve a chance at a happily ever after!!

Some dogs need more help then others along their way to their furever family though.  While some dogs get lots of applications, other dogs have been waiting longer without much interest or maybe they need a special home based on their unique personality.  The "Reduced Rover" program has been created to help these deserving dogs find the homes they desperately deserve. With help from our Benefactor Dogs and generous supporters, we are able to reduce the adoption fees of these dogs and provide additional pre-adoption or post-adoption resources to these dogs and their future families.

See below for our current list of Reduced Rovers and their bio's for more information about each dog in need!  Donate to their training and care to help them on their journey to their forever homes.

At 5 years old and 35 pounds. Her favorite thing in the world is giving kisses and getting belly rubs, and her least favorite thing is thunder, lightning and rain. When it starts to thunder and rain, she likes to go and hide and stay away from it all. We get it! She’s the sweetest girl and will give you all of the love in the world. She does great on leash and will fill you with laughter with her goofy antics. Miriam has done well with dogs in the past and could live with a more submissive dog in her forever home. Little kids might be too much for her, but a home with teenagers would be alright.

Miriam does great with slow introductions to new people, places and things, but once she knows them, she’s a champ. Due to her anxiety with new situations, Miriam has been in board and train and is finally ready for her new home. This training has set her up to be the best version of herself. An approved adopter will be given 4-5 hours of hands on training at their facility to help you learn how to keep her progress going. She was quickly a staff favorite and earned the name "Moaning Myrtle" for her goofy vocals when working on her skills and confidence. Dogs that have been through this program in the past have done wonderfully in their new homes and the trainers will be available for follow up sessions as needed.

Miriam truly is a diamond in the ruff. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. After almost 1,000 days in rescue, this girl is ready to make her break. You won't regret it one bit. Miriam is a Reduced Rover. Her adoption fee is only $100!

  • Adoption Fee: $100

  • Breed: Shepherd Mix

  • Age: 2 years

  • Size: 65 lbs

  • Dog Friendly - Yes

  • Cats - No

  • Kids - Teens are cool with Shiva

  • Neutered, Vaccinated, Microchipped, & Completed Heartworm Treatment

Shiva has been with Take Paws Rescue since March of 2022. After 8 months she has yet to receive a single adoption application. Shiva was pulled from a shelter, and we don't anything about her life before the shelter. Shiva is a young, active dog with a love of playing and snuggling on the sofa.

Shiva does well with other dogs, but prefers them to be smaller than her and for a slow intro. Due to her energy level, she would love a yard and no small kids that she could be too rough with. Shiva had heartworms upon intake, but has undergone her treatment and fully ready to find an active home to settle into!

In addition to the standard services/vetting covered by the Adoption Fee, Take Paws Rescue will provide the following free of charge:

  • 5 group training sessions for Shiva with "Not the Breed - People Training for Dogs"

Connie is one of our longest residents and has been with Take Paws Rescue since March of 2020. After living in an abusive home, she was pulled from a shelter, and has been in the same foster home for a long time. Connie needs a patient family that understands she will take time to trust new people in her life. After she trusts you, she is devoted to you and shows a lot of affection to her people.

She is spayed, heartworm negative following treatment, and up-to-date on vaccinations. She will need slow introductions, but gets along great with her furry foster siblings.

In addition to the standard services/vetting covered by the Adoption Fee, Take Paws Rescue will provide the following free of charge:

  • A private one-on-one training session in home for the adopter and Connie.
